Annaharvey Farm Pottery & Art
About
Lynda Deverell
Hi, I'm Lynda - for as long as I can remember I have been making "things" and now that I have more time on my hands I am grateful to be able to spend more time concentrating on painting and pottery!
I come from a family of makers & doers - my Grandmother was constantly knitting aran jumpers or crocheting table mats, while my aunts can turn their hands to upholstery, woodwork, sewing, etc. so I have been blessed with the same creativity which I can bring to my art.
I was fortunate to be mentored by Harrie McManus a well known Dublin artist, for over 20 yrs she came regularly to Annaharvey for workshops and from that I developed my own style - I paint in oils and my work can be abstract but also landscape & floral - I love the irish countryside and the bogs and lakes of my home county, along with the amazing west coast, and I particularly enjoy using strong colours to bring joy into my paintings.
My Pottery is self taught so I am on a continuous learning curve, as you never know what the "Kiln Gods" are going to do to the pots - I love making functional pots - mugs, jugs, bowls & plates, but lately I have been working on lamps with their own unique lampshades and am really enjoying the process.
