PotS!!

As always I am researching new ideas for my pottery business and this week I have been experimenting by using a more organic way of making plates and bowls - usually I throw everything on the wheel but this week I have been rolling out the clay quite thinly and using a mold to form the shape. I have had a very mixed result - the first few made were left out in the sun to dry but dried too quickly and cracked which isn't much use!! The next few are drying slowly inside so have to wait a few days to see how that works out - I want the plates and bowls to be a little less perfect so if they're not quite round that will be no problem.

Next job is to find a glaze that will compliment the "organic" look of the pots - my usual blues and reds will be too contemporary I think so have to source a more natural combination of glazes.

Never stop learning!!
